After each Latino Career Expo, El Mundo Newspaper hosts the Professional Mixer - a professional networking event that features a diverse list of guests from different communities of color from across the Commonwealth.
During this event, high profile key-note speakers such as former Governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, and The Mayor of Boston Thomas M. Menino address the leaders of the Latino community.

Celebrating Diversity during Latino Heritage Month! Courtyard-Boston Tremont Hotel Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Over 250 professionals from a wide range of backgrounds came together for a memorable and unique event hosted by El Mundo in partnership with several Latino professional organizations in Massachusetts.
Fielding questions from panel moderator Greg Almeida (CEO and Founder of Global View Communications) and dealing with issues such as diversity in the workplace and consumer marketplace, a distinguished panel of trailblazing business leaders took center stage at the El Mundo Professional Mixer held on Tuesday, September 23rd at the Marriott Courtyard Tremont Hotel in Boston.

The event immediately followed the highly successful Latino Career Expo that was held during the day (see page 16) where over 1110 job seekers were able to meet and greet over 40 organizations/exhibitors in the tenth installment of the series. During the evening event Eastern Bank was publicly recognized for their outstanding sponsorship support in all ten Latino Career Expos. Ive Gonzalez, Human Resource officer for Eastern Bank received the award and thanked all in attendance for also recognizing Eastern Bank’s pro-active approach to diversity employment.

Ralph de la Torre, MD - Caritas Christi Health Care President and CEO is also a prominent cardiac surgeon and innovative health care businessman with dual degrees from Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. de la Torre joined Caritas Christi from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where he was founder, president and chief executive of its Cardiovascular Institute. He has earned numerous academic awards and honors including a three-time selection in Boston Magazine’s Best Doctors issue.

Beverly Edgehill is President and CEO of The Partnership, Inc., a leadership development and career mentoring organization for professionals of color from the United States and abroad. Beverly assumed leadership for The Partnership in 2005 and her intellectual and executive leadership have become hallmarks of her tenure. As President and CEO, Beverly develops strategy and directs organizational growth to expand The Partnership’s portfolio of products and services for individuals and for their organizations. Prior to joining The Partnership, Beverly was employed by Fidelity Investments as Vice President, Leadership Development.

Vic Pascarelli serves as the Area Vice President for Comcast’s systems in Boston and the western suburbs. In this role, he is charged with overseeing and managing technical operations, sales, marketing and business operations. Previously, he was the Director of Sales and Marketing for the company’s Metro Boston Region. Mr. Pascarelli has had more than 16 years of experience in the cable and broadband industry, including 11 years as a General Manager of systems in Metro Boston and Los Angeles.

Adam Grossman was named the Red Sox’ Vice President/Marketing in 2008. Grossman works closely with departments throughout the organization and manyof its partners, including the New England Sports Network and Major League Baseball Advanced Media, to develop and execute the club’s marketing and advertising initiatives. Grossman previously served for as Special Assistant to President/CEO Larry Lucchino, during this time he managed numerous special projects that covered all aspects of the organization.
